Don’t continue the cycle – try this simple steps to start your week off with less stress. RELAX: Stop the Rush:  Slow down!  You probably rush around all week trying to give your best all week at work and then try to get your children from one practice to another while trying to a supportive spouse or partner.   Get up a few minutes earlier so you are not rushing and allow time between appointment to have a moment to gather your thoughts.  Take time to smell the roses. Turn off the Cell Phone:   Try taking an hour each day and disconnect using the phone.  Instead meet family and friends face to face.   Keep the REAL relationships strong. Mediate or Pray:  This is the time to unwind and connect with the source that gives you strength.  Study or read inspirational books during this time. Get Creative:  If stressed you may enjoy painting, drawing or even coloring.  Use the arts to relax.  Many will play an instrument like practice piano to relieve stress.  Focus:  Studies have found no one is good at multitasking.  In other words you are not getting ahead or saving time jumping from one thing to another.  It actually creates anxiety.  Focus on one thing at a time. Mind over Matter:  Think Good thoughts about everyone.  Find something good that resonates with you when you think about each person.   It may take some self-talk to keep from thinking negative thoughts.   Gratitude is the place to begin for this exercise. Stay Healthy: Start an exercise routine even if it is just parking at the end of the parking lot and walking further to your vehicle.  Consider your lunch and what you are eating daily.  Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Acceptance: Realize you may have to just let go of some baggage of disappointments.  Realize you nor anyone else can be perfect.  There are going to be mountains and valleys in all of our lives.
