Ever felt like something is missing? Perhaps you desire to expand beyond the scope of what you know today.
These 4 activities will make a difference in finding fulfillment you’re seeking:
-
Engagement:
Engaging in meaningful conversation with others outside of your friend circle or co-workers is a great way to expand your knowledge. It is said you are the sum of the top 5 people you surround yourself with. Try new locations to visit. Accept invitations from random acquaintances and see what new possibilities open up.
- Not much into politics? Give it a shot by engaging politics-driven individuals in conversation, just don’t make it a debate. You may not ever become a politician, but you can at least understand their point of view!
- Why not volunteer and donate your time to charity. That will do more for you than those you are helping. That may be the push you need to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Never know who you will meet.
-
Reading:
This is a great way to expand your horizons and give you an appreciation of concepts and ideas which you’ve never really given much thought to before. You’ll quickly find that you’re becoming more imaginative and even more accepting of the points of view of others around you. It doesn’t have to be a physical book it could be consumed by audio.
- History books give a true sense of appreciation of cultures and may help you determine why some cultures have behaviors that are so different from your own. History books also allow you information to open conversations with.
- No matter how your personality is inclined, free-loving spirit or a goal-driven individual, try reading to learn about how you can break out of your mold. You’ll be surprised at how liberating it can be when you take a deep look inside.
-
Creative:
As a child did you have a wild creative imagination? Was there ever anything you wanted to create? Write music, build a new gadget? Now that you’re grown, and possibly in a better position to create, why not take a shot at it? Try and do something totally unrelated to your career.
- If you write a book and share your innermost fears and insecurities; you may find that it gives you the freedom you’ve wanted for many years. Out of the mind on to paper does so much for the mind and soul.
- Start a blog for teens, which may very well help them through issues you faced when you were their age. How about a blog for a successful marriage to help other couples.
-
Appreciation: .
Although people accomplish things that might not be in your normal scope, why not try and take the time to appreciate their worth and see their value? While the impact may initially be beyond your insight or understanding, spending time looking into it for its worth may allow you to gain an appreciation you never had before.
The reality is that you’re never too old to learn!
Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. They don’t know your capabilities.
Remember that knowledge is power! Avoid limiting your knowledge base and open your mind to new possibilities in life. Expand the mind! Open your heart!
